Learning Experience In Making "Time Management" Digital Story Telling.

     We gained so many learning experience while doing our DST. This experience includes the aspect on language, teamwork, soft skills, technology, research skills, creativity and innovation. 

     In language, our group found a lot of new and useful vocabulary while doing our research. We also learn how to pronounce words according to the correct pronunciation.

     Teamwork is the most important essence in making our digital story. We learn to cooperate with each other and if any problem arise we tend to solve it together. Besides that, we learn how to communicate with other people, the right and correct etiquette to ask people to be our respondent. 

     We also had been exposed to the use of technology in making out DST. We had learn to use camera in shooting video precisely and accurately. We learn how to use video making software and audio editing software in editing and composing our DST.

     In finding information, researching skill is really necessary. We learned how to distinguish the important information from the raw information we get from the internet or books. We also learned how to find the right source of information.

     Lastly,creativity and innovation. We also tend to be creative and think outside the box. Instead of using pictures, we use video as part of our DST. Although it consume a lot of effort and hard work, we actually having so much fun in doing it.

That all of our learning experience and thank you for watching our DST.

1st prize!

Great news! Yee Hang, Bing Shu, Mun Wai and Wuing won the 1st prize of RM200 for their DST, The problem of the education system!!!

Congratulations! You guys really deserve to win as your DST is truly the best.  Your coverage/discussion  of the issue is critical, insightful and shows that you are aware of current events. You have also used the digital elements very well and the result is impressive. Well done!!!

However, the DST is far from perfect as there are a few grammar slips in the narration/caption.

Thanks to their win, the class was given a box of chocolate. So chocolate for all on Monday ;)

Description of learning experiences on the making of digital story

 When we were first assigned to produce a digital story, we decided to make one on various traditional dances in Malaysia. But, we were having a hard time in doing so because it will consume a lot of time and the digital story will also lose its main focus. Finally, we decided to do a digital story on traditional malay dances. 

Objectives of our digital story :

1) To educate people on various types and varieties of malay dances from different states in Malaysia

2) To preserve our malay culture by sharing information regarding malay traditional dances among the young 

     generation

3) To emphasize on the usage and importance of malay traditional dance in todays world

4) Present the colours and varieties in malay traditional dances

What we gained from the making of the digital story?

1) We got to improve our IT skills by using the computer. Handling Windows Life Movie Maker for the first     was an eye opening experience for us as we were new with the software. Finally, we learned to use it to produce digital story by trial and error. Learning to use to software would definitely benefit us in our future projects. We also learnt to use the sound recorder and cutting songs. 

2) We also learnt a lot regarding traditional malay dances in our movie making process. Our researching skills also improved by doing this digital story.

3) In terms on the language, the making of digital story improved our vocabulary as well as pronouncing the words correctly for the narration part. We get to learn the correct way to use and apply grammar.

4) Our team work also improved in the process of making the digital story. We get to tolerate and listen to others ideas as well as share ours with them. In a way, we got to know each other better and work well together.

5) Our confidence level improved and increased our soft skills especially in doing projects related to Information Technology.

what we learnt during the process of DST

After several weeks of hard work, our video "Vote" finally presented in the class.
In this several weeks we do learnt several new knowledge, these included :

• understand the real situation in political election compare to the theory that we learn in class
• improve our language in reading and writing
• improve communication in our cooperation
• improve our knowledge in using computer as a media center
• exposure our idea and opinion towards the public

Edu revolution group report

After couple weeks of hardwork, we have finally near the completion of our digital storyboard. During the progress, we have many arguments regarding the content of our own product, since some sensitive issues have been include in our digital storyboard. And for handling this problems, the title of our story has been change from time to time, and finally settle down by a week before this. (Refer to our older post)

In order to complete this digital storyboard, we have undergo many hardship. We need to find the proper image and background music, so that we can properly bring out the atmosphere and the purpose of the story. We also have problem with the length of the storyboard since 8 minutes was a little bit too long for our story. But in the end, we manage to overcome all these obstacles and our digital storyboard can be complete by the end of this week. It may have been alot of hardwork, but it were also plenty of fun and feeling of accomplishment during our progress. We will be showing our product very soon enough, and we hope you can enjoy it !

Hello everyone...
For your information,right now our group already have story line about our Time Management topic.We have decided to discuss about the problem on managing time among university student,especially in UKM and we also state what is the best solution that can they apply to solve their problem.Beside that,our group also interview some student to get some information about their time management as a student in UKM.To make a good digital story,we have learn and research a lot of example for digital story at YouTube and web.

Aim :

·         To create awareness among the citizens especially teenagers about 21 years old to turn out for voting.

Reasons :

·         The percentage of voters was low especially among teenagers about 21 years old.

·         Most of teenagers did not aware the significant of voting to maintain their rights choosing their preferred political parties.

Description :

Voting is all about choosing new government to rule the country for the next 5 years. Unfortunately, nowadays teenagers are not interested in election. This video is purposely meant to increase the voting awareness among teenagers especially the teenagers above 21 years old. Federal constitution is an important element in election. So in our video, we’ll firstly introduce about significant of federal constitution in election and voting. Furthermore we’ll identify the reasons for citizens especially teenagers above 21 years old don’t involve in voting and these reasons will be the turning point of our country’s future. Others then that, we’ll also point out several reasons that show the importance of citizens especially teenagers 21 years old get involved in election and voting. Every citizen’s vote plays an important role in country’s developing, moreover it can shake the very foundation of peaceful and harmony of Malaysia. Last but not least, in this video we’ll also analyze the government’s effort on encourage citizens especially teenagers above 21 years olds to get involve in voting and also the effectiveness of these efforts.

Time Management.

Why we choose this topic?

• We come up with this idea, "Time Management" for our Digital Story because it is a very interesting and it is very close to us as a student.

Objective?

• We want to highlight problems arousing due to bad time management.
• To give some alternative steps for viewer to make a better time management.
• Also, we want to create awareness about time management.

As we all know, time management is everything in campus life. There are too many activities to juggle; lectures, clubs, tutorials, college activities, thesis and many more. Bad time management can put your campus life to a risk. In order to achieve a balance to co-curricular activities and academics, an ideal time management can help you.

Title of our digital story is '' Malaysian Dance: A Cultural Expression''

      Our reason for selecting this topic is because it is an interesting topic to present as a digital story. It doesn't require much field work and reduces cost at the same time because the sources for this topic is unlimited.

      This digital story is being made to introduce various dances related to different kinds of races in Malaysia and also to display the differences between the dances in Malaysia. We also want to educate or raise awareness about our dances among our Malaysians.

       Introduction of the digital story will display Malaysians as a whole. We would like to talk about the different races in Malaysia and their norms before going into our topic.

       At first, we will start with the Malay dance. There will be differents types of Malay dances introduced in general followed by the Chinese dance and Indian dance. A brief history or origin of the dances will be the core of the narration.

       For the conclusion part, ''One Malaysia dance'' will be the ending to show the assimilation of the 3 major races in Malaysia through dance.
